Once apon a time…
I am very excited to finally present you my second Editorial Shoot at L’Auberge St-Gabriel with lovely Wedding Photographer Amy Punky, the great news is that our work has been featured and published on Style me pretty,a boston blog showcasing the finest vendors in the wedding industry, let’s just say that being part of it makes me very happy and says I must be doing something right, right? :) The most exciting part for me also is that I get to present you my work free of any Photoshop work,so what you see is really what you get with the amazing technique used by Amy Punky :)
In this shoot,we wanted to show to all brides that they don’t necessarily have to get married in a casual white wedding dress and have a typical bridal hairstyle, but that they could rather step out of their comfort zone and choose a beautiful gown and still look even more fabulous! This part was taken care of by Designer Antoinette Di Carlo from Di Carlo Couture who offers a wide variety of magnificent made-to-measure gowns -I fell in love with!-,wether the perfect cut,the tiny details I am sure took her forever to knit, or the beautiful richness of the fabric!
As for the hairstyle,I was very inspired by the black mask brought by Antoinette,it reminded me of Alexander Mcqueen and thought that hairstyle full of volume and still flowy/edgy/structured was just perfect! As for makeup,my focus was more on creating a perfect glowing skin and avoid matte finish, with lots of highlights and shimmers to remind of a natural dewy skin, and also on recreating the whole wedding theme in our beautiful bride’s eyes ( thats kinda becoming my style if you noticed),so I mainly recreated colours from the flower bouquet which are within the actual trend, lots of soft garden shades: pinky shades, fuchsia, coral, peaches, reds and raspberries! I complemented it with individual lashes top and bottom for a deeper and defined eye and of course a gel eyeliner. If you are curious about the products and colours I used, you will find some information at the end of this article,so you girls can go get them :)
We Also had the talented Mounia from Cupcake et Macarons specialized in wedding cakes and macarons, who created a ‘OH MY GOD!!!!’ cake specially for this shoot, she is taking the boring wedding cakes to a whole new level,I was amazed when seeing the tiny details and the flowers she made, you’ll see for yourselves the pictures!! If you ever have any event, could it be a wedding,a baby shower,a birthday ( yes even YOU grown up fashionista woman,it’s for you too!), or any celebration, I recommend you Mounia in a heartbeat! She knows her stuff and has a magnificent taste palette when mingling with the flavours!
I also want to thank Oxid design for the delicate and beautiful floral arrangements they provided us with,it was absolutely within the overall Editorial theme!
What I loved about working with such a team,is that there is space for one’s inspirational freedom and Artistic expression, and THAT…makes the whole difference between a good shoot and an AMAZING one!
So here is the finished product ( oh,and I can’t wait to see the video made by Little Potato Films,I will post it as soon as it’s ready! ) . and please feel free to write a comment or any question even if concerning makeup,we would like to hear about your thoughts :)
